Passion’s Pride
? Preface ?
Cathie Wright-Lewis
I yield to the spirits who speak through me. Writing is easier that way. At least it is for me. Every time I sit behind my computer with intentions to write a story, my characters and I end up in a spiritual time warp re-experiencing the 60’s or some time period I can’t identify. So I’ve learned to allow them to talk to me – tell me their story. Mariah, Mecca, Passion, Justice and Wisdom albeit allegorical characters, I believe are also entities from different dimensions present in this time of revelations to urge me to share the work they prepared during the dawn of the Age of Aquarius.
Where were you in the 60’s? Do you remember the spirit of the times; when “Negro” became “Black”, when unity and “Nation Time” changed begging open hands into black fists? I was obviously training in childhood boot camp in Brownsville, Brooklyn and I will never forget the work done there. Empowered in unity, we protested, picketed and marched. But most importantly, we learned our history – African-American history.
My first novel, Maurya’s Seed was written for the soldiers, survivors and present residents of my childhood community. Initially, I wanted to re-instill Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X’s tenet of self-reliance and believed revealing the continual attack on Brownsville and other impoverished inner-city communities as my purpose. But, the ancestors continued to whisper. And I knew much more had occurred in the dawning that needed to be revealed. Hence, I began writing Passion’s Pride.
Predictions of the first Black President, New World Order and World War III were all made in the 1960’s. And we are experiencing 2 and possibly all 3 right now. When Mecca goes back to the 1960’s, she finds that many of the conditions we live with today, were determined at that time – even her own life’s objective.
Mecca’s returning process takes you back with her, so perhaps you can find your life’s objective as well. Equally important through the travels of Mecca’s spirit, we learn what we all must do to insure that our future is free from poverty, drugs, gangs, war and slavery. Passion and Justice fight for the life, the very existence of our community so Mecca and Wisdom can guide us to establish promised peace in the new millennium - the actual Age of Aquarius. If you are reading this book, it is not a coincidence. You are ready to embrace your life’s objective and assist in the evolution of not just the Black race but the human race.
When the moon is in the seventh house,
And Jupiter aligns with Mars,
Then peace will guide the planet
And love will steer the stars!
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius!
