K9 Perceptions is an expert dog training company serving Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. K9 Perceptions provides a unique dog training experience, in that we not only teach obedience training but we also teach your dog how to become a good home companion. When it comes to training pets, we prefer to employ positive reinforcement techniques rather than "traditional" training tactics. Through treats, praise, and rewards, we try to hammer home the behavior training we instill in your dog. Your dog will not only learn how to obey commands much better this way but also you and your dog will be much happier for it. We offer several types of classes and options for training your dog.

We offer two six-week group obedience training programs for your dog. Our Basic Obedience classes allow dogs to get comfortable socially and learn basic behaviors such as sitting, staying, and laying down on command. Our Advanced Obedience classes involve a smaller group of dogs and focus on learning more specialized behaviors. These may include off-leash training techniques and commands such as playing dead, settling down, or fetching personal objects.

Our Board and Train program is designed for busy dog owners without enough time to devote to training their dog or for owners concerned about behavior problems they don't know how to approach. After performing a behavioral assessment, we begin intensive, one-on-one training; depending on how intensive the training is, we will board your dog from anywhere from a day to a week. They will receive the same love and attention they would get in your own home while also learning new skill and behaviors.

In addition to the above classes, K9 Perceptions offers private dog training, either in your home or a public space of your choosing. These classes allow you to get involved in your dog's training and address specific behavior issues your dog may struggle with. We also have a Puppy Kindergarten program, designed to help your new puppy learn how to be well behaved and socialized both inside and outside the home.

At K9 Perception, you and your puppies are our number one priority. We work to help bring out the companion in your dog, as well as working with service and therapy dogs. We offer group classes, private lessons in behavior modification, a Board and Train program, and AKC Canine Good Citizen training so your dog isn't just a good friend, but also a good citizen in the community.
